Cooking Games – Baked Potatoes

Baked potatoes are a great way to eat a healthy, filling supper, especially on a day that is cold and dreary. A hot baked potato topped with chili and cheese or as assortment of chicken and other goodies is a delicious meal that will warm you up from the inside while providing you with many nutrients.

Preparing Baked Potatoes
Find some medium russet, brown, baking potatoes. One per person is usually the guideline. If your potatoes are for side dishes, small ones are acceptable, but potatoes used for meals can be quite large.

Scrub the potatoes within an inch of their life to remove all the dirt and other contaminants from the skin. Then, use a fork to poke a series of holes in the potato to allow the hot air to vent. Do not put the potato in tin foil as this can make the skin soggy.

The potatoes will need to bake for a long time. After an hour at 350 degrees, remove the potato using potholders to protect your hands. Use a knife to cut it open and top with any combination of toppings. Enjoy!
